Explore intuitive, abstract painting through the language of color and shapes. Guided reflection, mindfulness and painting practices support listening deeply and expressing ourselves. Without thinking too much about it, you will paint your feelings by responding to prompts or questions. This burst of creative expression allows personal insights to emerge and opens the door to creative inspiration and authenticity. You will complete 3 paintings, which are like journals in color instead of words. No prior experience with art is required. A certified Art4Healing® instructor and Medi-Cal Peer-Support Specialist, Vickie Tugwell, facilitates Crescent Moon's expressive arts workshops with community partners around the Bay Area. This workshop is for families and youth together. We hope to build bridges toward better communication skills, mutual appreciation of one another, and healthy relationships through creativity and experiential learning. By developing skills for emotional regulation, deep listening, and a felt sense of safety, we support families in their efforts to move forward with harmony and unity.
