Experience a transformative day of creative expression through intuitive painting at Rush Ranch, a 2,070-acre nature preserve of marsh and rolling grassland. Guided mindfulness and abstract painting exercises help to ground you, release emotion and reconnect with your authentic self while crafting a unique piece of art. Expressive arts open the door to your authentic self, allowing you to process emotions — joy, passion, anger, sadness — and transform them into color, texture, and form. Painting in an abstract and expressive way isn’t about making “perfect” art—it’s about giving yourself permission to explore, feel, and create. With an MFA from Queens College, studies in San Francisco, and a rich background that includes running a cattle ranch and retreat center, Hilary brings both artistry and grounded wisdom to her workshops. She now makes her home in Novato, where she continues to create alongside her loyal ranch dog, Scramble.
